What is Critical Care Comics
Since 2012, Critical Care Comics (CCC) has sent superheroes to visit kids in hospitals and deliver comic books. CCC’s mission is to provide kids with an escape…if only for 28 pages.
As of 2026, CCC has expanded its impact by providing necessities to low income families seeking treatment, and creating a scholarship for childhood cancer survivors. Since it’s launch in 2023, CCC has awarded over $100,000 in college scholarships!
About the Ball
The Heroes & Villains Ball began as a way to invite our community to bring their favorite characters to life — with the creative twist of a winter formal party theme.
Nearly 10 years later the guest list has grown and the location has changed, but the heart of the event remains the same - a unique and memorable fundraiser in support of Critical Care Comics.
How Each Dollar is Spent
Toys & Comics: Our superheroes plan 10+ visits monthly to hospitals and medical facilities with wagons full of gifts for kids.
Survivors’ Scholarship: Since 2023 CCC has given away over $100,000 to survivors for college tuition!
Community Support: CCC extends our reach to support for low income families seeking treatment.
Fundraising: Generating awareness and support during community events and special projects.
Operations: Storage for comics/toys, costume maintenance, and resources to support our mission.
