Visiting Hospitals

Few heroes have seen more action than Spider-Man, and he’s created some special moments for kids in hospitals over the years. Walking in with comics and toys is only part of what our heroes bring to the children they visit - we provide an escape.

Picture the moment that Batman, Spider-Man and Thor walk into a hospital room after a child has only seen doctors, nurses and family members coming and going for weeks. Kids become more alert and focused on the heroes in the room asking them about who their favorite hero is, bantering about the multiverse, video games and anything else that steals the attention of the room for a few moments.

For the kids, their parents, and many times siblings, this break from reality is a memorable highlight of their day.

We have been fortunate over the years to have had incredible volunteers whose efforts have raised significant money for great causes. 

CCC fundraising efforts have included strategic partnerships with local businesses and entertainers, events such as our annual Heroes & Villains Ball, and support from generous donors.

The funds raised over the years have been used to fund a cancer survivors’ scholarship, provide essential needs for families, feed front-line workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, purchase new toys and comics, children’s hospital improvements, and supporting other great causes.

The Impact of Donations

Critical Care Comics is a 100% volunteer-run organization. Our ability to positively impact the Las Vegas community is based on the generosity of our donors, and a majority of funds raised are invested into our mission of making kids smile . . .if only for 28 pages.

Changing Lives

$51,000 in college scholarships were awarded to survivors of childhood cancer in 2023. The top recipient received $30,000 to help cover their Harvard tuition, and is on their way to achieving an amazing dream.
