Critical Care Comics is a Las Vegas charity, brought to life in 2012 when a childhood cancer survivor decided to help kids who shared his experience. As a child, comic books helped distract him during chemo treatments and painful procedures. Those stories provided him comfort that even superheroes had to overcome challenges. As an adult, he decided it was time to bring those characters back for another mission – make kids smile… if only for 28 pages. It was then that a handful of comic book fans with big hearts donned their superhero costumes and began delivering comics to children’s hospitals, quickly growing into the organization they are today.
As of 2022 our heroes and agents have worked their capes off raising over $450,000 for cancer research, scholarships for cancer survivors and more!
After 10 years of hard work, Critical Care Comics has become a staple of Las Vegas with dozens of partners and local supporters. Our roster of heroes has grown to over 70 active volunteers who share a deep commitment to the mission in everything they do. Each week heroes and agents visit partner hospitals delivering toys and comics to kids of all ages, and every month there are special events from walks and marathons to everyone’s favorite, Free Comic Book Day!
As Critical Care Comics continues to grow in our reach and impact, we’re committed to the original mission that started it all. While we strive to change the world for the better, we’ll never lose sight
of our goal to make kids smile . . .if only for 28 pages.
It takes heroic amounts of time and planning to consistently deliver comic books to kids at every available opportunity. Learn more about how CCC has impacted our community.
